The Kalandar Campus, which opened in August 2017, includes 26 new classrooms, laboratories, library, canteen, theatre, 3 sports halls, 25 metre swimming pool and a toddler pool. There is also recreational playgrounds and an outdoor 5-a-side football astroturf pitch.

Curriculum English National Curriculum  IGCSE, A Level.

BST is a unique international school in Uzbekistan. As well as offering the English National Curriculum, we are the only licensed school in Uzbekistan that offers a Dual Curriculum for Uzbek nationals. The Methodology Department was established in 2014 at BST to regulate and control the state obligations towards our school. We now have the opportunity to give the required certificate (аттестат) at the end of a pupil’s study in Year 11 (Uzbek National Curriculum Grade 9) to the children who have Uzbekistan citizenship.

The school has two campuses on the north west side of the city in the pleasant residential areas of Mirzo-Ulugbek. The Sayram campus offers Early Years to the important transition of Year 2 and the Kalandar campus provides a stimulating environment for our students from Year 3 – 11. Primary and Secondary education have access to some superb sports facilities including a swimming pool and gymnasium. In addition, the classrooms are modern with state-of-the art technology.

BST is registered and licensed with the Ministry of Education in Uzbekistan and the Qualification and Curriculum Development Agency in the UK, as well as being supported by the British Council and the various embassies situated in Tashkent. The school is also a fully accredited member of COBIS, CAIE and Edexcel centre.

Tashkent is similar to many other major cities, particularly in Europe. Additionally, it has a clear cultural identity that is less evident in other places close to the UK. It also has the advantage of being less than a six hour flight from London.

Tashkent is a city with a rich history to be explored. There are reminders of the Soviet days and also a vibrant arts scene in the city, with some fantastic museums to visit. From an architectural standpoint, the city is a mesh of truly impressive buildings, old-style soviet apartment blocks, wide streets and underground walkways. Stated in many of the guide books you will read, Uzbekistan is said to be the greenest country in Asia with seasons not as harsh as some of the other post-soviet countries.

Tashkent is also a safe city. By taking the normal precautions necessary for any large metropolis, your stay will be a safe and memorable one. Tashkent is rapidly establishing an expatriate community with cultures represented from all over the world.
