The Taiwanese climate is pleasantly warm year round.The annual average temperature is around 22 degrees Celsius with the highest reaching 30 degrees, the lowest temperatures ranging between 12 and 17 degrees during winter time but can fall to 8 degrees. Frequent typhoons occur between June and September during which heavy rains fall sometimes causing flooding and damage. The island of Japan lies on an earthquake fault line.
