Visa Restrictions

A personal permit (work permit in Azerbaijan) is issued by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and should be obtain before you commence work in Azerbaijan. Please note that US citizens who have Armenian ancestry or  Armenian surnames may be refused an entry visa on the grounds that their safety in Azerbaijan cannot be guaranteed. Once you have obtained a teaching position your new school will start the process of obtaining a work permit. The school will require a number of notarized or legalised documents for you before they start this process.
